The occupational health service provider gets acquainted with the conditions of the workplace through workplace investigations and visits to the workplace. The purpose of the workplace investigation is to assess the health risks and problems caused by work, the working environment, and the workplace community, as well as their health implications for work ability and health. This is done in multiprofessional cooperation with the employer.
A visit to the workplace is always conducted at the start of the operations, when changes in working conditions occur, and periodically. The workplace investigation may also include ergonomic surveys, work atmosphere surveys and occupational hygiene measurements.
